Howdy, I’m Joshua Dietz. As a tax attorney, my work is focused on tax related matters. I work with clients regarding their Tax Disputes, Tax Planning, Estate Planning, and Business Planning.
Our CPAs and I also offer tax return preparation services for our clients. (We helped with some of their tax situations, it just makes sense we continue to prepare their tax returns.) By reviewing tax returns each year, tax return preparation also allows us the opportunity to offer some additional insight.
Originally, I did not start in tax law. I began my legal career handling insurance coverage litigation. This experience allowed me the opportunity to travel and represent clients in various industries with many different business practices.
However, it was 2010 when a respected CPA requested that I take on a tax case. The IRS was seizing a family’s assets, and they wanted to see if I could help. After successfully stopping the seizure, I realized that I sincerely enjoyed working with this family and in this area of law. It felt like that was my purpose. From that point on, I was completely focused helping people with their tax concerns.
Now, most people understand that tax laws are pervasive, impacting our lives. Tax laws are extremely long and confusing.
Myself and my CPAs enjoy working with clients to help put tax in perspective. We enjoy helping people “right-size” their tax responsibility.
“Any one may so arrange his affairs that his taxes shall be. As low as possible; he is not bound to...best pay the Treasury; there is not even a patriotic duty to increase one’s taxes.” The Honorable Learned Hand in Helvering v. Gregory, 69 F.2d 809, 810 (2d Cir. 1934).
We work very hard to stay updated on the constantly changing tax laws, so that we can provide the best service to our clients.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
I appreciate the opportunity to be of service.
